Our newsletters and news flashes
Some things are so beautiful, they should be shared!
We make ourselves heard through our quarterly newsletters and interim 'one item' news flashes. In this way you stay well informed about the developments within the children's rehabilitation center. Are you not receiving these yet!? Then sign up because they are too much fun to miss.

So much to share

Some experiences stand head and shoulders above the rest. This is also the case now. Ketut Sutini, the mother of our supervisor Gede Voga, passed away on Tuesday 11 October. This is a great sadness within her close family and we wish them much strength. I also feel this as a loss because Ketut Sutini was my ibu Bali.
In addition to saying goodbye, we may also make room for welcoming. We are also making progress with the new location and we would like to briefly report on the benefit of last November 19. And there is a musical scoop.

It's never quiet at Smiling Kids Bali
Newsletter | October 2024
While the Netherlands emptied due to holidays and Bali filled up due to holidays, our team and our children of the children's rehabilitation and care center were busy. Taking a vacation from important exercises is simply not done. Self-reliance depends on the commitment of the child itself and certainly also that of the family and the relatives around the child.

Nieuwsflits: hier zijn wij goed in!
Newsflash | June 2024
First of all, thank you very much for reading our newsletters and flashes. The videos we make are watched a lot. We want to reach a lot of people by posting them on Facebook and Instagram, for example, and of course on our website. What is it all about in the end? That the children of our rehabilitation and care center can face their future with confidence by receiving the best physiotherapy. We do everything we can to increase the self-reliance of the children.

Growing squared
Nieuwsflits | Maart 2024
On November 5, 2023, I was allowed to leave for Bali with Esther. Six weeks on location, shoulder to shoulder, with the team, the children and their parents, sponsors and other stakeholders working for the children's rehabilitation center.
Together we saw the new centre operational for the first time. Only later were we able to put our feelings and experiences into words: the centre is exactly as it should be. In every way, the building fits our ambition for now and the future, and the energy is buzzing. This place has become even more of a meeting place!

Future-proof
Newsletter | October 2023
In the newsletter of last June I was able to tell you about the new location and that the construction was in the final phase. On July 3, the team and the children moved to Jalan Giri no. 25. Step by step, the team and the children have taken all the spaces into use and our new building is now fully operational.

We are back again
Newsflash | April 2023
YES! Wij gaan weer terug naar de Jalan Giri. Al sinds 2017 zijn wij op zoek naar dé stevige fundering van waaruit het kinderrevalidatiecentrum kan groeien tot haar waardevolle omvang!
Veel leesplezier!

Fly for Bali 2022

An island for an island
The 3rd edition of the 3-yearly benefit Vlie for Bali took place on August 7 on Vlie-land. The organization of this benefit has once again seen the entrepreneurs of Vlieland from their very best side: inventive, generous and heartwarmingly involved.
The benefit was organised by Marino, initiator and manager of the children's rehabilitation centre and was selflessly sponsored by Kampeerterrein Stortemelk, grandcafé de Bolder and many Vlieland entrepreneurs. Together they have ensured an impressive prize pool.

Moving and much more
Newsletter | July 2022
Hi everyone, what a wonderful job I get to do. There is always something to experience or arrange. We have news about the work experience program (WP), there is a change in staff, the board in the Netherlands has been captured on camera and there is news about the new location. Yes, you read that right because we are moving in September 2022!
I hope you enjoy reading!

How nice!
Newsflash | June 2022
Ayu and Budi both work as assistant physiotherapists in our children's rehabilitation center. Ayu has come a long way with operations (club feet) and a lot of training to get where she is now. And also found her love in the children's rehabilitation center and got married on Saturday, May 28th! How nice is that! We wish Ayu and Budi a very happy marriage. Congratulations!

One name, one facebook, one website for Smiling Kids Bali
Newsletter | May 2022
Hi everyone,
I am happy to tell you about some great developments: the new organization for the children's rehabilitation center in Bali is a fact! The notarial deed has been signed and the new name and design have been implemented on facebook.
And then another nice piece of news: there will be a wedding within the foundation. More about these items later in the newsletter.
The board in the Netherlands has been expanded with a fifth board member. Gerard de Kort, welcome!
Together with my . . . . .

We're going on a trip and we're taking...
Newsflash | March 2022
The regular newsletter in January was cancelled due to organizational circumstances. We start this year with a newsflick about chromebooks, but not without first thanking everyone on behalf of the team of the childcare center and the boards in Bali and Kampen for everyone's contribution in 2021.
Covid-19 is unfortunately still among us and now that we know what is going on in Ukraine, we wish everyone in freedom good health for 2022.

Playful, cheerful, colorful and ready for the future
Newsflash | November 2021
With the launch of the new website, introduction of the logo and the entire new look, we are ready for the future. An efficiency drive was needed: maintaining various logos and two Facebook pages, working with multiple email addresses, valuable time was lost. It took considerable persuasion from the manager to convey the necessity for this. Introducing and implementing such changes is a process that must be done with respect and attention to the past, and that took time.

It's raining news again!
Newsletter | October 2021
With a foreword by Bu Sylvie Yuliasari as our secretary and director of the hospital Kertha Usada in Singaraja. Items include; Bali still in the grip of the Covid-Delta variant. Important sponsorship action for our foundation, automation, arrival of sponsored three-wheelers, status of food aid program and Club100-2021.

The children's rehabilitation center, food aid, welcome Noviani and something is going to change!!
Newsletter | April 2021
It is my honor to start the newsletter with good news. The children's rehabilitation center has remained open! In the foreword in the January newsletter I told about the adjustments due to Covid 19. There are no new changes to mention in that regard.

This is our Ketut Wiguna!
Nieuwsflits | februari 2021
This ONE ITEM NEWS FLASH is about Ketut Wiguna. He lives with his parents in Desa Anturan, Buleleng. Ketut Wiguna is the fourth and youngest child. One sister passed away. Fortunately, he has an older sister and brother.
Ketut Wiguna is almost 10 years old. He is diagnosed with CP (Cerebral Palsy). His braces were made by the Puspadi Bali foundation in Denpasar. This is an important collaboration but also a major undertaking, because the journey there takes about three hours. Our own team has the right knowledge but not the resources. For example, an oven is needed to make the braces. We hope to be able to purchase an oven in the future so that travelling will be a thing of the past.
Have fun reading and listening to this brave young man.

Best wishes, Covid-19, our
children and their future
Nieuwsbrief | januari 2021
On behalf of the board in the Netherlands and Bali, I wish you a loving and healthy 2021.
Everything and everyone is impressed by Covid-19, everyone has to deal with it and we are not there yet. This time makes it visible to all of us how many vulnerable people there are. We have to take care of each other. Let's not let go of each other!
